A new routine....

Wow.  I forgot how tiring it can be to work outside of the home.  A good tired.  I love the job.  And the pay is increadible.  And its only 20 hours a week so really not so bad.  Allows me to continue the lifestyle here at home just with a bit more balance and not fly by the seat of my pants im used to.  The weekend was good...a bit lazy though.  Friday found us spending valentines day with the best valentine we have been gifted thus far...Firefly!  Then we headed home and cuddled and watched some of our favorite shows.  Larry surprised me with a bracelet to add to my beginning and every desiring collection of Alex and Ani...the leaf bangle which I am ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH!!  He is so amazing.  Saturday was spent mostly running errands and a home day.  Sunday was intented to be spent at church...obviously onced again Larry had other plans.  He had found a vintage 1940s gas stove that is the perfect size for the cabin.  So we set off early to retrieve it.  For an absolutely amazing low price.  Great condition.  With that in storage we decided to go and meander the flea markets in Mercersburg.  Home with some goodies for us and the girls we crashed early.  Rose early this am to run before heading to a full day at work.  Home waiting on Katie and James to get here for a visit before the go to the theatre.  Calling it an early night after the barn chores for sure!  Here is a pic of the exact make and model of the stove we purchased.

The weekend...

Better late than never I suppose.  The weekend was set to be fun and quite busy.  But apparently Yeshua had some definate other plans for me.  Friday was good.  Zumba bright and early with some friends then quite a few errands.  Home quickly to dip some amazingly good...Amaretto soaked white chocolate dipped stemmed cherries!  Yes alot of work but oh so worth it.  We went to a dinner party in the evening and home late.  By the time we were heading home I knew I had had it!!  I knew there would be absolutely no possible way I could continue on the rest of the weekend.  I had been feeling a cold coming on for a few days but wow!  So saturday we missed a dear friends birthday party and spent the entire day at home with the blinds closed cozied up in front of the fire all day and night!  I must say it was a GOOD day!  Sunday we skipped church and headed out to spend some time visiting the kids and their families!  Monday found me at my first day of work.  LOVE it!!  And here we are already on Tuesday.  Relaxing and gaining strength for the new snow storm to hit us tomorrow.  They are predicting it to be a bad one...we will see!  Until tomorrow then.

Weekend...

Another great weekend behind us and another ahead.  I do love the time in between to rest and refresh though.  This weekend found myself spending the day Friday with some amazing ladies from church walking and enjoying the ice sculptures in town and some amazing shops.  Friday evening I met up with a very long time friend for dinner.  Saturday Larry and I went for feed and groceries then an evening date night with some dear friends.  We met George and Maureen at Roy Pitz Brewery and the Stube for a beer and dinner.  Walked the town at night to see the sculptures and take in some more shops.  Made our way at the end of the evening to the new chocolatier in town.  Not only is he amazing at chocolates but coffee as well and has the neatest  seating area in an old warehouse!  Sunday was warm and overcast and our souls had longed for a mountain hike so we skipped church and headed to the mountain!  The smells and sounds are just so amazing for the soul!  Sunday evening we made our way to church for a superbowl party.  We are not exactly sports fans but the company and food was so welcoming!

Lcc Ladies!

We try to do things together as often as possible and I am so glad to have each and every one of these lovely ladies in my life.  Tess couldnt make it today because of sick children and she was very missed.  The ice sculptures were very nice as always.  The new store in town...the Norweigein Godfather...AMAZING!  Cant wait to take Larry there tomorrow.  Lunch at the Main Street Deli was just ok.  Oh and I wore my new leg warmers and was so glad I did as it is still so cold out!  Time to enjoy a relaxing evening at home!

The last few days...

The last few days have been quite the whirlwind.  Some good and some not so.  I had two interviews on Monday...both went well but I definately favored one than the other even though both were for the same company but two different locations.  Woke Tuesday morning feeling just Horrid!  A terrible type of lingering head cold.  And to top it off the weather was extremely FRIGID all day.  Stayed home and nursed myself.  Wednesday firefly had a two hour delay so I had to go and help Cassie clean in Hagerstown.  By the afternoon I was so ready to meet my old friend the Yoga Mat onced again!  There is a new studio here in town called Lotus Moon and decided to give it a go.  Very pleased and will make it there onced a week for sure.  Didnt make it to bible study however.  Oh but while cleaning I got a call from one of the locations...Offering me the job...the one that was the "least" favored.  I accepted.  So Thursday I headed into there for a drug test which meant no tincures to clear this head thing for the night before.  While in town for the drug test I congratted myself with a Alex and Ani bracelet!!  There are going to be many many more reasons to celebrate for the next few months until I have the collection I would like!!  Absolutely LOVE them.  Home briefly to milk and get cleaned up before heading out to meet some friends for dinner.  Before dinner however, the other location called and offered me the job as well.  YEP I accepted!  Its the one I felt more comfortable with AND it pays two dollars an hour more!  So no tincures tonight either because I will have another drug test tomorrow.  Also today I found my way to the thrift store.  I seriously must stay out of there!  Home with some awesome treasures.  The feed sack bags are perfect and I thought I would never find them.  Wanting to make this for the front porch of the cabin. http://www.pinterest.com/pin/452048881318526237/  Ohhhhh curled up there this fall with an outdoor fire! Well enough for today tired and must sleep to try to get rid of some of this head stuff.
Be well,
Lisa

Weekend in review...

I seem to like coming here at the end of the weekend and looking over the time we had together.  I think I will try to make this a habit here to look back on.  This weekend was very relaxing for us with very little plans.  We spent Saturday packing and moving more things to the storage unit, out to eat and some general shopping together.  It is nice to go to the storage unit and see our life there waiting on the cabin.  Sunday after church we took Firefly and Emmy out to lunch and Monkey Joes.  Firefly had off school all week long due to the weather so the time spent running and playing was good for her.  And the love those two have for each other!  Now we sit here together after barn chores are done and getting ready to snuggle in with some Mountain Men and Alaska the Last Frontier.  Refreshed and ready for the week ahead.
Be well,
Lisa

The choice...

We spent Saturday parusing around nearly 90 acres of land choosing which 10.5 acre piece we would want to spend the rest of our lives on.  The weather was severely cold and snow had come the night before.  We had some very long time friends with us for the day and it was such a blessing.  It was easy sort of, the choice that is...it was like Yeshua just took us to the very perfect spot that fit us both so well.  So come next weekend an official contract will be written up and proposed to the owners.  Praying this next step goes smoothly.  After hours spent walking we were all starved so headed to Berkeley Springs for some fun time.  Taris cafe was delicious as always and the scenery beautiful.  I took no pics of the town but plenty of the land.  Heading home I had a voicemail.....an interview is set for Thursday!!  Praying ever so hard that Yaweh opens this door and I walk smoothly in.  Taking a job is not something I love at all!  I have worked over the years of our marriage but very very rarely.  Its not that we need me to work...its just that for the next six months with the girls moved a little farther away im finding myself thinking that I can use this time to help larry further this dream.  So here are the pics of the land!!
Be well,
Lisa

To the right is the choice property.  The pines in front of us is another piece

The kimble family!

To the left the choice property.

Choice property to the right.

Choice to left...look at that sky!

Im in love already!

Brings back memories...choice to the right.

Choice is to right and behind the truck.

The driveway is very long and wide and all ours with the property.

Addittion to the barnyard....

Yenni.....
While this picture is absolutely horrid it is all i have for another few days.  I had no intention whatsoever of coming home with a new animal when I first set out this morning.  Some thrift store visits, quick trip to the mall where I found some awesome deals for all of us, lunch with Cassie and some time in Marshalls scoring some great new yoga clothes and I thought my day was complete.  UNTIL...I stopped at my friend Jills to see about a spinning lesson this week.  Thats when I found her.  We walked up to the barn and there she was and well I just fell in love.  They were wanting to sale her as well.  She will be a year old on March 24th and able to be bred in the fall.  I am sooooo very excited!!  Part of spinning includes shepherding a flock of sheep so why no start now when Indie (goat) is in need of some company.  She will be coming here in just two very short weeks.  Larry took the news extremely well.  He is so good.  Never knows what to expect next and just rolls with it as it comes.  Time to get out to the barn and milk and tell Indie of her new housemate.
Be well,
Lisa

What a beautiful day!  Woke to sunshine and decided to take full on advantage of it. Weekend musings...

It was a fantastic weekend.  Stared on Thursday here.  Lunch with my girls!  I do love them so very very much.  Friday was a day long overdue.  A day trip with Tess.  Its scarry the connection we have sometimes.  Found some great deals at some thrift and antique stores.  Lunch was interesting as always...the conversations!!  The weather had started out pretty bad but by the end of the day was fairly cleared.  Saturday we woke to some pretty heavy rains and very heavy fog.  Onced Larry was home from work we set out to run some errands and decided quickly to go and look at a particular piece of land.  A quick stop first at James and Katies to drop off some birthday presents for him and thrift finds for her then another quickie to see Firefly and her mommy and daddy and drop off some things for them.  Then to the land...ugh! We found the one a few weeks ago...but we just wanted to be sure we were following Yaweh and not ourselves in this search.  So we decided to look at this new piece the realtor had sent us.  Yep...the one we had originally settled on is the right one for sure.  This piece we went to see was an absolutely beautiful piece of wv land.  Rolling pastures...eight acres!  The price is right for certain..but there are these HUGE and I do mean HUGE electric towers on the property.  They were just buzzing and snapping everywhere!  Made me sick!!  I tried really I did I tried to like it and overlook them.  I just couldnt.  So after talking and praying we are pretty settled on the other piece we originally had chosen.  Home and settled in for the evening on Saturday we retired early.  Sunday we made our way to church.  Never disappointed there!  Home and worked on some laundry and packed up more boxes of things we wanted to put into storage.  It feels like things are moving so fast and yet so slow.  We are seriously on such bare bones here in this little house and sometimes I feel like a stranger in it.  I know though that we will be glad we did all of this work before we actually sale and have to move.  The transition will be so much easier.  We made dinner together and then spent the evening reading magazines and talking and planning.  Today was the media fast for us.  Thinking this is something we will do weekly.  Ready to settle into another adventurous week ahead.
Be well,
Lisa

I am looking forward to...The weekend...always the weekend!

I am learning.....To be patient and wait on Yaweh in ALL things!

One of my favorite things...Milking hour everyday.

A few plans for the rest of the week:.....Lunch with my girls, and a day full of Tess adventures and lunch, Weekend day trip with the Kimbles...long overdue!

A peek into my day...Remembering my brother today in prayer.  Things seem so difficult for him lately.

Come along wont you!  Things are very much about to get rolling here at our home.  Larry and I have had the desire for as long as we have been married to have a little piece of land and live as sustainable as possible.  Raising two beautiful girls made attaining this dream difficult but we would have never wanted it any other way. We did however raise them as close to this lifestyle as possible without removing them entirely from society.  The desire has continued to grow stronger than ever.  And now with them both married and living happily as grown adults we are stepping out in faith that Yashua will see us through to the end.  Our home is still on the market and praying for a quick sale this spring.  We have moved from our large home to the very very tiny home on the same property.  Winter is proving difficult not living in the big home.  We have all of our married lives heated with wood and am now heating with a pellett stove until we get the cabin up and running.  I truely miss the wood heat but know it wont be but this winter only.  Most of our livestock has been moved to our daughters home where they can be settled until we get more adjusted.  We have kept one milking goat and added two hogs here to this home.  The hogs will definately be butchered before we make the leap.  And the goat that is here will more than likely go with us no matter what kind of shelter we may have for her.  Here I hope to journal my days.  Whatever they may be full or empty of.  Something to look back on when things have settled.
Be well,
Lisa
